Sierra Seeds seeks to reseed imaginations of a more beautiful and nourishing world through uplifting and mentoring emerging mentors, changemakers, visionaries, creative humans who are making nourishing contributions at the intersections of the landscape of food and seed sovereignty and cultural revitalization, who are cultivating foodways that grow from a foundation of belonging, connection, and culture.

We believe through the power of cultivating creative supportive learning spaces and circles, we can work together seed the change for a more equitable and beautiful food system that centers around a deep sense of belonging and connection.

Group mentorships and creative incubators for emerging food system leaders, visionaries, storytellers as well as those who identify as mindful eaters and lovers of life.

Deep and rich immersive leadership/mentorship experiences to uplift and empower those who are dreaming ahead to sow and seed the beautiful vision of the ways of nourishing our communities that aligns with the values of a more just and equitable future.

Here is an invitation to…

 

I am writing from inside our Earthen Seed Kiva, which is a temple for our living seed bank here on the farm…. Rows of carefully placed colorful cobs of corn…Sacred Mohawk Red bread corn that looks like juicy pomegranate gems; blue corn whose kernels are lined up in 8 neat rows of shades of grey, slate and nearly purple; multi-colored Calico corn whose pearlescent seed-coats that catch the light of the eastern morning; shiny spiralling Chapaloté corn cobs that look like they are sculpted of iridescent Tiger’s eye stone. Jars of beans, some speckled and resembling orca whales, others earthy and mimic soft buckskin; all invisibly pulsating with the dynamic life energy that infuses us all.
